Akwatia man arrested

The Akwatia Police Command in the Eastern Region has taken into custody a man named Coffie Agyemang from Kwamang for allegedly attempting to sell his young son.

According to sources close to Akwatia TV, Coffie confided in a friend that he wanted to sell his three-year-old son, claiming that he was facing financial difficulties.

The source revealed that someone alerted the police about Coffie’s plan.

The authorities then posed as buyers and arranged a meeting.

After agreeing on a price of GHS1 million, Coffie reportedly brought his son to the designated location, where he was arrested.

The source added that Coffie allegedly intended to have his son killed for ritual purposes, after which the body would be returned to him to “prove” that the child had been killed.

Attempts to get a comment from the police were unsuccessful, as they told Akwatia TV reporters that investigations into the case are ongoing.
