EOCO cages former GIHOC MD
The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly arrested former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected financial irregularities.
Sources indicate that Mr. Jumah was picked up at his residence in Accra on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
The arrest follows a raid on his private residence in Kumasi last week, although authorities have not disclosed details of any items retrieved during the operation.
According to individuals familiar with the matter, the investigation is centred on alleged breaches of public financial management protocols during his tenure at GIHOC Distilleries.
The development is the latest in a series of high-profile investigations involving former public officials, as state agencies intensify efforts to ensure accountability and transparency in the management of public resources.
