Eight arrested for attack on Metro Mass Transit workshop in Sunyani

The Ghana Police Service has apprehended eight suspects in connection with an attack on the Metro Mass Transit workshop in Sunyani, Bono Region.
The suspects, identified as Issaka Taugfic, Alhassan Issah, Abudu Isaiah, Abdul Latif Mohammed, Abdulai Adams, Mohammed Azandoro, Amadu Mohammed, and Abdulai Ibrahim, reportedly stormed the workshop on December 9, 2024.
According to a police statement, the group attacked employees and forced them to vacate their offices.
Upon receiving a distress call from the Metro Mass Transit workshop, the police swiftly responded and arrested the individuals involved.
“The suspects are in police custody and are being processed as part of the ongoing investigations,” the Ghana Police Service confirmed.
The police also noted that these arrests are part of broader efforts to address recent incidents of violence, vandalism, and looting.
“This brings the total number of suspects arrested for attacks, looting, and destruction of property to 97,” the statement added.
The Ghana Police Service assured the public of their commitment to maintaining peace and order, urging cooperation from citizens to prevent further disruptions
