Eugene Arhin impersonator granted GHS10K bail
An Accra District Court has granted a bail bond in the sum of GHS10,000 with two sureties to a self-styled journalist Joseph Ofosu, following his impersonation of the Director of Communication at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin.
The suspect has allegedly been engaging in nefarious activities for close to two years.
He was arrested in 2019 and charged with three counts of defrauding by false pretences.
Mr Ofosu is alleged to have defrauded people under the pretext of giving them political appointments and securing them auction cars.
Though he pleaded not guilty to all three counts of defrauding by false pretences, he was slapped with a bail bond of GHS10,000.
The accused person, who resides in Koforidua in the Eastern Region, was instructed by Magistrate Rosemond Agyiri to surrender his passport to the court’s registrar and report himself to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) every Friday.
The case was adjourned to 11 February 2020.
