Mankessim robbery: Zen fuel station owner arrested over cop’s murder

The police has arrested Isaac Eshun also known as Nana Nyeiku VII, the owner of the Zen fuel station in Mankessim, Central Region, where there was a robbery attempt on Wednesday, 22 January 2020.
Mr Eshun is in the custody of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Central Regional arm of the Ghana Police Service.
The police found that the spent cartridges retrieved from the murder scene were fired from the shotgun and pistol belonging to Mr Eshun.
The robbery led to the death of Lance Corporal Kingsley Boahen and injury of two officers when they responded to a distress call at about 0200 hours from the Zen fuel station.
According to a statement from the police signed by DSP Irene Serwaa Oppong of the Public Affairs Unit of the regional police command, the incident occurred “at about 0200 hours when a police patrol team”.
The deceased officer was off-duty when his lifeless body was found near the crime scene.
