Police arrests trucker for Tema-Mpakadan rail accident

The Ghana Police Service has arrested the driver of a Hyundai truck with registration number GS 9018 - 20 for allegedly causing an accident involving a Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) train on the Tema-Mpakadan railway line on Thursday, 18 April 2024.
A short statement from the police said its preliminary investigation has established that the suspect driver left the said vehicle unattended on the railway line, leading to a collision with the train.
The police is continuing with investigations into the incident.
Meanwhile, Railways Minister John Peter Amewu has described the trucker's action as "unfortunate, irresponsible and unpatriotic".
No one got hurt in the crash.
