Police to shut down empressleaks porn site after boss arrested

The administrator for popular pornographic website empressleaks.biz, Anderson Ofosuhene Anim, also known as Mario Gee, is in police custody for cybercrime-related offences.
He was arrested on 30 July 2020.
He allegedly publishes nude pictures and videos of people and extorts money from them.
Based in Osinor in the Eastern region, 35-year-old Mario Gee has been involved in the criminal act for the past six years.
He was arrested in a joint operation by the Cybercrime unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service and the Ministry of Communications.
According to the police, the search for Mario Gee began some six months ago after mounting surveillance, adding that a search is currently ongoing to clamp down on his accomplices, who are believed to be scattered across the country.
Head of the Cybercrime unit of CID, Dr Gustav Yankson told Class News that the unit is working to shut down the website.
"It is a process. He has been arrested but unfortunately the website is not in Ghana. We have to liaise with our partners in the US to take that. The good news is that some of these activities are the same in the US. So, we liaise with our partners there. We will surely take it up. Currently, we need to go through that process," he explained.
Mario Gee is expected to be arraigned on 19 August 2020.
Charges of child pornography, obscenity, extortion, as well as money laundering have been levelled against him.
