John Odartey Lamptey assualting Wife

The wife of John Odartey Lamptey has spoken publicly for the first time about what she describes as a “deeply disappointing” experience with the Tesano Police Station in the Greater Accra Region during a critical period in her ongoing domestic dispute with her husband.

This follows viral Facebook video where the husband is seen physically assaulting a woman believed to be his wife at their home in Ofankor, Ga East

The unnamed woman says her husband, John, accused her of infidelity, forced pepper into her intimate parts, tore her clothes and forced himself on her.

However, later when her husband John slept off, she gathered her clothes, pieces of the pepper, and went to Tesano Police Station to present these items and her bruised skin to officers at the station as evidence of the violence and abuse she was suffering at home.

According to her, the Tesano Police Station let her down greatly after reporting the incident to the police.

She said she was asked about her family, to which she answered that she was alone in Accra.

She said they invited her husband, who denied the abuse, and called his family members as witnesses.

Eventually, after several visits, the police informed her to accept the situation as simply marital trials, not needing their intervention and exercise patience.

The victim expressed deep sorrow over this, opining she was denied help because she had no family members available at the time, nor money.

She wondered why the police had taken note of the evidence she presented but denied her justice.
