A/R: Appoint an internal person as new VC– TTUG KsTU, TUWAG, SRC to gov’t

Members of the Technical University Teachers' Association of Ghana (TUTAG) at the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) have appealed to the university's council to appoint an internal person as the Vice- Chancellor of the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor position has become vacant and a new person has to be appointed by the council to fill the vacancy.
TUTAG is not the only group which wants an internal person to be appointed to fill the vacancy but also the Technical University Senior Administrators Association (TUSAAG), Technical University Workers Association of Ghana (TUWAG), and the Student Representative Council (SRC), among others do not want an external person filling the position.
Class 91.3 FM’s Ashanti Regional Correspondent Elisha Adarkwah who visited the campus reported red bands have been hanged at the various entrances of the university, as well as banners bearing the various staff unions and the student organisations' logos with the inscription: "#VC Internal Movement."
The Local Chairman for TUTAG, Dr Bismark Parker, appealed to the University Council to appoint an internal person for the vacant VC position.
