Apostle Dr Ntumy deserved the accolade ‘God’s Chosen General’ – Bawumia

Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed sadness at the demise of former Church of Pentecost Chairman Apostle Dr Michael Kwabena Ntumy.
In a Facebook post following the news of the passing of the former COP Chairman, Vice-President Bawumia said Apostle Dr Ntumy “impacted humanity and deserved the accolade "God's Chosen General."”
He continued that: “My wife Samira Bawumia and I extend our sincere condolences to the immediate family and the Church of Pentecost.”
The Vice-President added: “May the soul of the selfless man rest in the bosom of the Lord.”
The global Pentecostal community is mourning the passing of Apostle Dr. Ntumy, the fourth Chairman of the COP.
The religious luminary, breathed his last on the morning of Wednesday, 27 December 2023.
Apostle Dr. Ntumy's journey in ministry commenced at the tender age of 26 with The Church of Pentecost. Rising through the ranks, he received the divine call to the office of an Apostle at the age of 33. Six years later, he assumed the esteemed position of the fourth Chairman of The Church of Pentecost.
His stewardship spanned two terms, a decade in total, during which he steered the course of the global Pentecostal church. In a symbolic act of succession, Apostle Dr. Ntumy handed over the leadership mantle to Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah.
The late spiritual leader was no stranger to adversity. His life story is punctuated by remarkable instances of resilience, including being held hostage in rebel territory during the Liberian Civil War in the 1990s. Apostle Dr. Ntumy faced various threats to his life, from physical assaults to poisoning and paralysis, the latter leading to his confinement to a wheelchair.
Not merely a spiritual leader, Apostle Dr. Ntumy was a prolific writer, known for authoring several books. His literary contributions extended to serving as the Director of Literary Works for The Church of Pentecost.
After an illustrious 39-year ministry, Apostle Dr. Ntumy officially retired from active service as an Apostle late this year. A poignant retirement service, honoring his dedication and service, took place on September 24, 2013, in Hamburg, Germany.
Born in 1958 in Dadieso, Oti Region, Ghana, Apostle Dr. Ntumy leaves behind a legacy of faith and resilience.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Ntumy, and their six children.
