The Central Regional branch of the Centre for National Culture (CNC) in Cape Coast has celebrated the graduation of some 113 individuals who successfully completed the C. Carl Oparebea Marketable Training Programme, which aims to equip participants with valuable skills.

The seventh edition of this month-long annual training programme, initiated about two years ago, recently concluded in Cape Coast on the theme ‘CNC: A Catalyst for Economic Development Through Entrepreneurship’.

During the programme, participants undertook courses in various fields, including hairdressing, basic sewing, hair braiding, bead making, fascinator creation, crafts, art painting, macramé, decoration, and floral arts.

Mr Kwamena Minta Nyarku, the Member of Parliament for the Cape Coast North Constituency, praised the CNC's programme as a commendable initiative.

He sponsored the training expenses for 20 individuals from his constituency to participate in the marketable training programme.

In an interview with Class 91.3 FM's Nana Tawiah following the graduation ceremony, stated that his support for 20 young people within his constituency to gain skills from the CNC's marketable training aligns with his vision for Cape Coast North.

He explained that his vision focuses on "reducing poverty and improving livelihood through entrepreneurship, empowerment, and sustainable development."

He assured that he plans to continue such efforts and programmes in the future.

For his part, Nana Otuo Owoahene Acheampong, the Executive Director of the National Commission on Culture, encouraged the graduates to apply their newly acquired skills effectively.

He urged them to become ambassadors for the programme, inspiring others to participate in future editions.

Some of the graduates expressed their gratitude to CNC for providing them with marketable skills.

They shared that the training has transformed them from being dependent on their families to individuals who can contribute positively to society.
