Eastern RCC holds refresher workshop for 74 local government officers ahead of PSC exams

The Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council (ERCC) has organised a refresher workshop for 74 officers from the Executive and Revenue classes of the Local Government Service in preparation for the upcoming Public Services Commission (PSC) Examination.
The PSC Examination, a key requirement for promotions within the Public Service, tests candidates’ proficiency in English Language, Mathematics, Public Service regulations, and other essential subjects relevant to effective governance and service delivery.
The workshop, held on Wednesday, August 20, featured presentations from expert facilitators, including Mr. Cyril Dzinyanu Xatse, Head of Human Resources (ERCC), Dr. Alexander Otopa, Head of Finance (ERCC), and Mr. Peter Sae Afari, Deputy Director of Administration (ERCC).
Their sessions deepened participants’ understanding of Local Government Service protocols, English language skills for the PSC examinations, and other cross-cutting issues critical for success.
Addressing the officers, the Regional Co-ordinating Director (RCD), Mr. Yaw Adu-Asamoah, underscored the value of such preparatory training.
He noted that refresher workshops have consistently enhanced officers’ performance in both interviews and PSC examinations, serving as a strong foundation for career advancement and promotions.
Mr. Adu-Asamoah encouraged participants to fully leverage the training, stressing that excelling in the PSC Examination would better position them to take on higher responsibilities within the Local Government Service.
