Education Minister in Jamaica to seal teacher exportation pact

The Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, recently led a delegation from Ghana to Jamaica for discussions aimed at forging new educational partnerships between the two countries.
The visit, conducted at the invitation of Jamaica's Ministry of Education and Youth, focused on establishing a framework for recruiting skilled Ghanaian teachers to contribute to Jamaica’s growing education system in the Caribbean.
Dr. Adutwum highlighted that the discussions centered on developing a mutually beneficial collaboration that upholds the highest standards of educational excellence.
The delegation also had the opportunity to visit several schools in Jamaica, where they were impressed by the infrastructure and innovative approaches to learning.
“These experiences have given us much to consider as we seek to enhance our education system in Ghana,” Dr. Adutwum noted.
He emphasized that this visit has laid the groundwork for a promising partnership that will not only bridge the two nations but also enrich the educational experiences of students and teachers in both countries.
Expressing gratitude to the Jamaican government, Dr. Adutwum commended their warm hospitality and the efforts made to ensure that the visit was both welcoming and productive.
The partnership is expected to bolster STEM education and contribute to the overall enhancement of educational practices in both Ghana and Jamaica.
