Forestry Commission hosts students from Finland and UCC
The Forestry Commission (FC) has hosted students from the University of Eastern Finland and the University of Cape Coast as part of an educational visit aimed at deepening their knowledge of forest conservation and climate change mitigation efforts in Ghana.
Welcoming the delegation, the Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission, Dr. Hugh Brown, described the visit as a privilege for the institution.
He briefed the students on the mandate of the Commission, its organisational structure, and the roles of its various divisions and support units, including their staffing capacity and operational focus.
Dr. Brown expressed hope that the visit would offer a meaningful exchange of knowledge and provide the students with a memorable learning experience.
According to him, the visit forms part of ongoing collaboration in environmental education and research between Ghanaian and international academic institutions.
