Free SHS: Adutwum commends policy for promoting inclusivity, student opportunities

The Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has lauded the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy for its commitment to inclusivity and the provision of educational opportunities for all students.
Speaking at an event titled The Free SHS Story and held in Accra on Tuesday, 23 April, 2024, Dr Adutwum stressed the policy's significant role in supporting student learning and fostering fairness in access to education.
Highlighting the policy's impact, Dr Adutwum noted that it had led to the highest student enrollment in over a decade, underscoring its effectiveness in ensuring that no child is left behind.
He praised the policy's commitment to providing educational support to students, noting: "No longer are we going to implement cut-off in this country. No student can be cut off from opportunity…When they come, we will hold their hands and help them."
Dr Adutwum expressed confidence that the Free SHS policy will empower students to tell a better story of their educational journey in the future. He affirmed the government's dedication to supporting students and ensuring equitable access to quality education for all.
