Free SHS has come to stay - Mahama
Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reiterated his support for the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, promising enhancements if he is re-elected in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Mr Mahama stressed the policy's role in ensuring equal educational opportunities for all citizens.
Speaking to journalists in Accra on Sunday, 7 July 2024, he stated, "The Free SHS policy is here to stay, and I am committed to improving it."
He dismissed allegations of opposition to the policy, clarifying that he supports it and aims to address its current challenges.
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused Mr Mahama and the NDC of opposing the policy alleging that they will cancel it if Mr Mahama is reelected President.
