WAEC releases final timetable for 2024 BECE; Exams to begin July 8
The West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the final timetable for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE).
The exams will commence on Monday, July 8, 2024, and conclude on Friday, July 12, 2024, with an additional session on Monday, July 15 for students taking Arabic.
On the first day, students will sit for English Language and Religious and Moral Education.
WAEC has stipulated that "both papers for each subject are to be taken at one sitting without break," ensuring a streamlined process for examinees.
In case of discrepancies between the time indicated on the question paper and the timetable, WAEC has advised: "where the duration indicated on the question paper differs from that on the timetable, the one on the question paper should be followed."
WAEC has also made provisions for students with visual and hearing impairments, stating, "candidates with visual and hearing impairments are to be allowed an additional 50% of the time allotted to other candidates."
