Your service is to God – N/R Min. to teachers

Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saeed has commended the work of teachers in some basic schools in the Tamale metropolis on the first day of school after the reopening.
“We appreciate some of the challenges you go through as teachers but that notwithstanding, we believe that service to mankind is service to God,” Mr Saeed said while interacting with some of the teachers and students.
He said: "Some of us appreciate what a teacher goes through because I am also coming from you because I am also a teacher, even though I am a minister today, I shouldn't pretend I don't know what happens."
According to the minister, no incentive provided by the government for teachers can make up for their selfless service to the nation.
Mr Saeed made the comments after his visits to the Dakpema Primary A, the SDA Primary B and the Tiyumba Primary schools in Tamale.
He was accompanied by the new Northern Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr Edward Azure, who charged the pupils to take their studies seriously.
He said the teachers are their parents in school, therefore, they should always approach them with their problems when the need arises.
