Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah wins 2020 nat’l law firm award

Ghanaian-based law firm Benti-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah (BELA) has won the National Law Firm of the Year award 2020 in legal innovation in cross-border transactions.
The awards event was organised by the International Financial Law Review (IFRL).
Its focus is on global law firms exclusively working on legal innovation in cross-border transactions.
The event also aimed at recognising legal ingenuity, achievements and potential for innovation across the African market.
A statement issued by the IFRL to announce winners for the year 2020, stated: “IFRL is delighted to announce the winning deals, teams, firms and individuals for its inaugural 2020 IFRL Sub-Saharan awards.”
According to the IFRL, “The announcement follows months of research by the team and careful deliberations by the editors and IFLR journalists that make up the internal judging panel.”
IFRL continued: “For the 2020 awards transactions must have reached financial close between May 31, 2019, and May 31, 2020, to be considered.
"The deals must meet the specific criteria to be categorised as cross-border and as sub-Saharan Africa”.
In all, the Ghanaian firm won in three categories.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was won by its partner Kojo Bentsi-Enchill, while the firm received the project financed deal of the year award.
The firm which has expertise in providing first-rate legal services in all sectors of the economy for local and international corporations also has a banking and finance practice.
