Beware of Jospong's grip on Ghana's resources - Manasseh to Mahama

“Any president in bed with Jospong but claims to be fighting corruption is nothing but a fraud,” Manasseh Azuri Awini declares.
He recalls Mahama’s public support for Jospong’s CEO in 2016, a move that coincided with the NDC’s electoral defeat.
Despite this, the company thrived under the Akufo-Addo administration, continuing what Manasseh calls its “havoc on state institutions.”
Drawing from his investigative experience, Manasseh labels the Jospong Group worse than other entities he has exposed, such as the Agams Group involved in the GYEEDA scandal.
He warns that continued dealings with Jospong will undermine Mahama’s anti-corruption stance and stain his administration’s legacy.
Manasseh calls on Mahama to follow the precedent he set in dealing with Roland Agambire and rLG.
“If you could stop Roland Agambire and rLG after my GYEEDA investigation that also implicated Jospong, you should be able to stop Jospong,” he urges.
The journalist’s letter is a stark reminder of the influence that powerful private entities can wield over government policies. Manasseh’s conclusion is clear: for Mahama to succeed in fighting corruption, he must prioritize the national interest over private alliances, no matter how politically expedient they may seem.
However, as Manasseh emphasizes, any misstep could turn the operation into a liability rather than a victory for justice.
