COVID-19: Ghana fasts and prays today
Ghanaians are today, Wednesday, 25 March 2020, fasting and praying as part of efforts to fight off the coronavirus outbreak.
This day for national prayer and fasting was declared by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
So far, Ghana has recorded 53 cases of COVID-19 with two deaths.
“I urge all of us, also, to seek the face of the Almighty. So, on Wednesday, 25th March 2020, I appeal to all Ghanaians, Christians and Muslims, to observe a national day of fasting and prayer”, the President said in his address to the nation last Saturday, adding: “Let us pray to God to protect our nation and save us from this pandemic”.
The President, last Thursday, led some church leaders to pray for God to heal the land while the Vice-President led Muslim leaders last Friday in similar prayers.
