COVID-19: Leader of Mountains Prayer Camp arrested for flouting ban on public gatherings
The leader of Break of Mountains Prayer Camp at Pokrom in the Akwapim South District of the Eastern region, Prophetess Veronica has been arrested for flouting the government’s ban on all public gatherings in the country.
Government banned all public gatherings to further prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Ghana has so far recorded seven cases.
The leader of the prayer camp was arrested together with an elder of the church on Wednesday, 18 March 2020 and the Prayer Camp closed down for non-compliance to the President’s directive.
The District chief Executive, Frank Aidoo, accompanied by some security operatives made up of personnel from the Ambulance Service, Fire Service and some health officers thronged the church while service was ongoing to effect the arrest of the leader and elder of the church.
