Defence Minister oversees handing over of Chief of Defence Staff

The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has supervised the official handover ceremony between the outgoing Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, and his successor, Major General William Agyapong.
At the ceremony, General Oppong-Peprah, dressed in his red ceremonial uniform, formally handed over the leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to Maj. Gen. Agyapong, who was clad in his green military uniform.
Dr. Omane Boamah commended General Oppong-Peprah for his service and leadership, highlighting his contributions to military modernization and national security.
He urged Maj. Gen. Agyapong to continue strengthening the Ghana Armed Forces, ensuring operational readiness and national defence preparedness.
The event, held at the Burma Camp in Accra, was attended by senior military officers, government officials, and dignitaries.
