At about 17:00 GMT on Monday, residents of the Abotanso community were thrown into panic when a swarm of bees suddenly invaded the area, attacking people indiscriminately, according to eyewitness accounts.

The bees reportedly appeared without warning and stung residents across the community, affecting men, women, the elderly, and children alike.

Several people sustained injuries in the incident.

Seven victims were admitted to the Abotanso Community Clinic for treatment.

Among them were two individuals, both aged 65, who reportedly became paralysed following the attack.

Due to the severity of their condition, they were later referred to the Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital for further medical attention.
