ECG to embark on another nationwide revenue mobilisation May 29
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced another nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise.
The ECG had in March 2023 embarked on a similar exercise which led to the disconnection of power to very reputable state-owned organisations in the country.
In a public notice, Tuesday, 23 May 2023, the ECG noted that “The massive revenue mobilisation exercise will focus on all categories of customers in arrears including State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and will be monitored by special teams who apprehend and prosecute customers who attempt to interfere with the exercise, and/or undertake illegal self-reconnection after disconnection.”
According to the power-distributing company, it “shall operate with a lean staff pool who will provide essential services to customers during the revenue mobilisation period to enable total participation by top Management and Staff.”
“All Customer Service Centres remain open to serve,” it revealed.
It urged all “customers in arrears to please pay their bills now, to avoid disconnection, and payment of reconnection fees.”
The exercise is expected to end on Friday, 2 June 2023.
