Ejisu: Locals vandalise, burn Beninese shrine; invoke voodoo curses over SHS girl’s murder

Linda Akansa was found dead on Friday, 21 June 2019 in a bush near an uncompleted building in the community with her remains decomposing.
Her sandals were found about 5 metres away from the crime scene with parts of her hair shaved off.
The Juabeng SHS 2 student got missing for a week during her school's short vacation.
Ejisu Divisional Police Commander, ACP Stephen Tane Ngissah had told Kumasi FM's Elisha Adarkwah that no arrest had been made yet but one suspect was on their radar.
On Wednesday, 26 June 2019, however, some angry youth in the community stormed the house of a Beninese spiritualist in the community, set his house and shrine alight and vandalised his dwelling.
They have accused him of being behind the girls’ killing as well as other recent murders in the area.
The police command has arrested one person in connection with the vandalism.
Some of the youth later stormed the Ejisu police station to demand the release of their arrested colleague.
The Divisional Police Commander met with the residents in the community and urged them to desist from taking the law into their own hands since the police have commenced investigations into the matter.
After their meeting with the police, the angry residents used poured libation with a bottle of Schnapps and invoked voodoo curses on those behind the killings. They asked the gods to kill those people.
