The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa, has arrived in Côte d’Ivoire for a two-day working visit aimed at addressing the welfare of Ghanaians who fled to the neighbouring country following a recent communal conflict in Gbinyiri in the Savannah Region.

Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa was received at the airport by his Ivorian counterpart, H.E. Kacou Houadja Léon Adom, who extended what the Ghanaian minister described as “exceptional hospitality.”

The visit will focus on ensuring the safety and well-being of displaced Ghanaians, with Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa reaffirming that the Mahama administration remains committed to protecting citizens both at home and abroad.

“The welfare and safety of all Ghanaians everywhere in the world shall continue to be a priority,” he emphasised.

The minister is expected to hold bilateral discussions with Ivorian authorities and meet affected Ghanaian nationals during his stay.
