GA/R: Tragic fire claims life of 5-year-old girl at Adjei Kojo Sancity

A devastating fire that broke out in a kiosk at Adjei Kojo Sancity in the Tema West Constituency of the Greater Accra Region on Sunday, May 4, 2025, has claimed the life of a 5-year-old girl, plunging the community into mourning.
The victim, identified as Yayra Hannah Agbeve, had reportedly left the church early during the service to return home and rest.
Her mother, Madam Joyce Agbeve, remained at the church unaware of the tragedy that had unfolded.
According to an eyewitness, smoke was seen billowing from the kiosk shortly after the girl returned home. Residents rushed to the scene and attempted to douse the flames, but their efforts were in vain.
The young girl was found burned beyond recognition in the charred remains of the structure.
Speaking to the media, Madam Joyce Agbeve expressed her shock and sorrow over the incident.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Assembly Member for Adjei Kojo, Charity Dela Siame, has called on the Ghana Police Service to launch a thorough investigation into the incident.
She also appealed to local authorities and social welfare agencies to provide emotional and financial support to the bereaved mother.
The incident has left residents of Adjei Kojo in deep grief, as many struggle to come to terms with the tragic loss.
