Ghanaians abroad mobilise to support dev't home

Some Ghanaians in the diaspora are mobilising resources to return home to embark on development projects as part of their support for the government.
They are planning to invest in water, health and other projects to support the development of the nation.
The leader of the Italy Chapter of Oman Ghana, a group of Ghanaians in the Diaspora, Nana Akosua Ampomaah Nhyira, Dormaa Ahenkro Aduana Totomakobea Hemaa, said there was the need to give back to society what they have been able to achieve in life.
She told Accra 100.5FM’s Richard Appiah Sarpong that the development of the country cannot be left to just the government, hence, their decision to return home to invest in the Ghanaian economy.
“A lot of Ghanaians are living abroad doing wonderful things for their host nations and, so, we ask ourselves: Why can’t we extend the kind of ideas we have to Ghana which is our homeland?” she quizzed.
“We have successful Ghanaian businessmen, lawyers, doctors, nurses, accountants and several others and we are mobilising ourselves to return home. We'll be meeting on the 29th of February in Italy to mobilise ourselves and think about how we can execute the idea of coming back home to develop the nation.”
