Ho gas explosion: 2 dead, others to be transferred to Korle Bu
Two of the 14 victims who were injured in the explosion at Mighty Gas near the Ho Teaching Hospital in the Volta Region have died.
The victims died while on admission at the Ho Teaching Hospital.
The Hospital has, however, indicated that it is making the necessary arrangements with the Korle bu Teaching Hospital to have some of the victims of the explosion transferred.
Acting Chief Executive of the Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr John Tampori on Wednesday, 18 September 2020 said: “It’s just not right to have as many as 13 sleeping close to one another, they’ll be infecting one another and if you look on the right, the first one, infection has set in. The skin is dirty, there’s already infection. So what we’re going to do is isolate those from the rest...
He added: “We are negotiating already with Korle bu, they have a very good facility to see whether they can take a few of them.”
Meanwhile, the management of Mighty Gas Company Limited have said the cause of an explosion is being investigated by the Ghana National Fire Service.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, 11 November 2020 at about 5:10 am.
