I'II prioritise CPAs and PAs in security recruitments - Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has pledged to intervene to ensure that Community Protection Assistants (CPAs) and Prisons Assistants (PAs) under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) are prioritised in recruitment into security agencies.
This assurance came after an appeal from the Employment and Labour Relations Minister, Mr Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, and the Chief Executive Officer of the YEA took turns to speak at a YEA Forum held in Kumasi, the Employment Minister emphasized the importance of giving priority to CPAs and PAs in security agency recruitment due to their effective performance, experience, and significant contributions to their respective agencies.
Mr Baffour-Awuah announced plans to formally present a document to the Cabinet, advocating for the prioritization of these assistants.
He highlighted that CPAs and PAs, having already acquired relevant skills, would require less time to adapt to policing compared to new recruits without any security work experience.
In response, President Akufo-Addo committed to using all available means to ensure that the security agencies heed the appeal from the YEA and its beneficiaries.
He affirmed his support for prioritizing CPAs and PAs in recruitment processes.
Additionally, President Akufo-Addo encouraged YEA beneficiaries to actively campaign for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and to vote for the party in the upcoming December elections.
