MP Dumelo notes Okponglo traffic lights functioning now, hopes they stay on after 'last couple of months' repairs

Dismounting a quadbike, Ayawaso West Wuogon MP John Dumelo has announced the faulty Okponglo-Legon traffic lights are back to function.
“This evening, just around 7:30, 8:00, the traffic lights in Okponglo have finally been fixed,” he said, looking into a camera held by another.
The newcomer MP who in 2024 valiantly ended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 24-year possession of the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat, sending the NPP’s Lydia Alhassan out of office, said “a big thank you to the [Department of] Urban Roads, contractors and engineers that were working on this project for the last couple of months”.
He acknowledged “everybody that has been using this road” connecting major communities like the University of Ghana (UG), East Legon, Atomic, and Madina.
“Thank you for your patience,” he emphasised, hoping “these lights will be on for a very, very long time.”
In conclusion, Dumelo showed the peace or victory sign, and underlined his readiness to serve his constituents by repeating his ‘I dey for you’ pledge which means ‘I’m here for you’.
