President John Dramani Mahama is set to unveil a new Code of Conduct for all government appointees later today, Monday, May 5, 2025, as part of efforts to strengthen ethical governance and deliver on his administration’s 120-day Social Contract.

The announcement was first made in a Facebook post by Minister in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

He described the upcoming week as a defining moment for the government's reform agenda.

The Code of Conduct, first introduced during the swearing-in of ministers, is aimed at providing clear ethical guidelines for public officials.

It is intended to eliminate ambiguity in public service roles and reinforce President Mahama’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity.

“This week marks a crucial milestone in the rollout of President Mahama’s 120-day Social Contract,” the minister wrote.

“It begins with the unveiling of a strict Code of Conduct to regulate the activities of all appointees and ensure transparency and accountability in government.”

The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to enhance responsible governance and intensify the fight against corruption.

The new code is expected to serve as a standard framework for conduct across all sectors of government, guiding appointees in the discharge of their duties.
