Maiden Ghana results fair begins today
The Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation will, from today, 14 January 2020, open its maiden results fair to enable the Ministries, Department and Agencies interact with the citizenry, civil society and the media to explain the progress of the implementation of key programmes and policies of the Akufo-Addo government and the achievements made so far.
It is to be held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
Tthe government’s flagship programmes such as the Planting for Food and Jobs under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture; and One District-One Factory under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, would have booths to engage the public on their milestone.
In each of the booths, the participating agencies would display infographics, pictures, videos and relevant information of projects: where they started, the processes involved, level of implementation, sustainability and their short-, medium- and long-term impact.
The three-day event is on the theme: “Delivering results for citizens; work in progress”.
The government, under the World Bank-funded Public Sector Reform for Results Project is sponsoring the Ghana Results Fair.
Dr Akoto Osei, the Minister of Monitoring and Evaluation, said the fair was one of the efforts by the government to promote inclusive engagements and interactions between the public sector and the citizenry to promote evidence-based decision-making and improve accountability for results.
