NDC Legal Director commends Deputy Roads Minister for apology to motorists

The Director of Legal Affairs of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godwin Tamekloe, has applauded the Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, Alhassan Suhuyini, for offering an apology to motorists affected by recent inconveniences on the Ofankor-Nsawam highway.
Mr. Tamekloe described the Deputy Minister’s gesture as a wise and commendable act of leadership, noting that it reflects humility and a willingness to take responsibility on behalf of the government.
“Thank you, Hon. Suhuyini. This was a bold and wise decision that demonstrates respect for the people,” the NDC legal chief remarked.
The apology, issued on Wednesday during a meeting with the Public Accounts Committee sitting, sought to acknowledge the frustrations of road users who have endured challenges due to ongoing construction and maintenance works across the various sections of the highway.
Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, Alhassan Suhuyini, apologised to motorists for the inconvenience caused by the suspension of construction works along the Pokuase-Nsawam road in the Greater Accra Region.
Appearing before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament today, Suhuyini expressed regret for the difficulties faced by drivers during the period of halted works on the busy highway.
He assured the committee that the ongoing extension project has since resumed, with the contractor back on site to continue construction.
According to him, the project remains on schedule, and the ministry is committed to ensuring timely completion.
The Pokuase-Nsawam road is a critical link for commuters and traders, and its expansion is expected to ease congestion and improve travel times once completed.
