NIA assures 500 contract staff of settling salary arrears
The management of the National Identification Authority (NIA) has acknowledged the delayed payment of salaries for approximately 500 contract staff.
According to a memo addressed to all members of team 1, dated January 6, 2025, and signed by Head, Administration/HR, Mr Jay Awuah-Peasah, the contract staff were “engaged in the registration of Ghanaians aged six to fourteen years for the months of October and November 2024”.
“We apologize for the inconvenience caused and assure all affected staff that we are working with our partners, NHIA, to ensure the prompt disbursement of these outstanding salaries,” the memo noted.
“We appreciate the dedication and patience demonstrated by the contract staff during this challenging period and urge everyone to remain calm as we ensure salaries are paid within the shortest possible period.”
The memo concluded: “We wish to recommend that any further concerns should be channeled through your immediate supervisors.”
