Nation to commemorate 40th day of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s passing on October 20
Ghanaians will gather on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Complex Park to observe the 40th-day commemoration of the passing of Apostle Emeritus Ing. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the revered industrialist, innovator, farmer, herbalist, and spiritual leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana.
The solemn event is expected to draw thousands of mourners, including high-profile dignitaries such as the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the President of the Republic, former Presidents, a former Vice President, Members of Parliament, traditional leaders, and captains of industry.
They will join Sarah Adwoa Safo, her siblings, the Aduana Family of Essumangya, Asantemanso, and the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of a man whose life embodied faith, innovation, and national pride.
Apostle Safo, affectionately known as the “Star of Africa,” transformed Ghana’s landscape through his pioneering work in local automobile manufacturing, agricultural innovation, and technological advancement.
His visionary leadership proved that self-reliance and African ingenuity could drive development from within.
Beyond his industrial achievements, Apostle Safo’s spiritual stewardship through the Kristo Asafo Mission inspired generations to embrace discipline, compassion, and service to humanity.
The commemoration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with prayers, hymns, and tributes, and is expected to conclude at 6:00 p.m. Attendees have been asked to wear red and black attire in honour of the solemn occasion.
As the nation reflects on his passing, Apostle Safo’s enduring legacy will continue to inspire — a reminder that faith, innovation, and devotion to humanity are the truest measures of a life well lived.
