Omane Boamah: ‘Operation Recover All Loot’ will ensure accountability
The Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has assured Ghanaians of the party’s unwavering commitment to recovering public resources lost to corruption and mismanagement.
Speaking after John Dramani Mahama was declared winner of the 2024 Presidential Election, Dr. Omane Boamah outlined the party’s plans to ensure accountability under the banner of “Operation Recover All Loot” (ORAL)
“This is not a sham or a slogan—it is a commitment to restore what has been lost to corruption,” Dr. Omane Boamah said.
“The decisive outcome of over a 1-million-vote margin is a clear rejection of the Akufo-Addo administration. Ghanaians have spoken, and we are determined to honour their mandate with action.”
He emphasized the NDC’s readiness to hold the outgoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government accountable for its tenure.
“President Mahama remained in Ghana after our 2016 loss to account for his stewardship, as did many of us in the NDC.
We expect the same from the NPP administration. ‘Operation Recover All’ will ensure no mismanagement or corruption goes unanswered,” he stated.
Dr. Omane Boamah also called for responsible behaviour from the outgoing government during the transition period.
“We expect them to respect the transition process and avoid incurring last-minute financial obligations or signing contracts that could burden the incoming administration.
Financial institutions should also refrain from honouring such transactions,” he warned.
He highlighted the NDC’s ambitious plans for job creation and economic recovery, specifically through their “24-hour economy” initiative.
“The unemployed youth who voted overwhelmingly for President Mahama deserve better
We are committed to providing them with hope, dignity, and decent-paying jobs,” Dr. Omane Boamah said.
He reiterated the party’s focus on integrity, transparency, and restoring trust in leadership.
“This victory is not just about recovering stolen resources; it’s about restoring hope and ensuring that leadership serves the people.
The days of recklessness and unaccountability are over,” he added.
Dr. Omane Boamah acknowledged the sacrifices of Ghanaians, particularly the youth, in securing the NDC’s victory.
“Hope has arrived. President Mahama’s election marks the beginning of a new chapter for our country. Ghanaians can trust this administration to deliver,” he concluded.
