Owusu-Bio inspects work on Amrahia dairy farmland boundaries

The Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources responsible for Lands and Forestry, Mr Benito Owusu-Bio, on Monday, 30 January 2023, paid a working visit to the Amrahia Dairy Farm Lands to, among others, inspect the progress of work on the opening up of boundaries which demarcate the respective land parcels for the pre-acquisition families.
His visit is a follow-up to his instructions to the Adenta Divisional Police to halt further encroachment on government lands at Amrahia and also to provide security for the surveyors to open up the demarcated boundaries.
As part of his visit, Mr Owusu-Bio also checked on the extent of encroachment on the lands as well as work done by the police and the surveyors to open up the route to the boundaries.
Upon inspection of the level of encroachment, he instructed the police to ensure that all works on government lands in the area are halted until the lands are demarcated and handed over to the pre-acquisition owners.
The Surveyor leading the team, Mr Alexander Ayertey briefed the Deputy Minister that so far, Cadastral pillars have been identified to serve as landmarks for the construction of the main pillars.
After his update, the Surveyors took the deputy minister and his entourage on a tour to the various endpoints of the boundaries to appreciate the work done so far.
Also on the working visit to Amrahia with the Deputy Minister was the Technical Director for Lands at the Ministry, Mr Maxwell Adu-Nsarfoa.
The government, through the Lands Ministry, has, for some years now, been fighting encroachers on the Adenta Amrahia Dairy Farmlands and has currently made headway in working with various families involved to ensure that the 40% of the acquired lands are handed over peaceful to the pre-acquisition owners.
