Police puts GHS20,000 bounty on bullion van raiders' heads
The police has placed a GHS20,000 bounty on the heads of the armed robbers who attacked and robbed a Mon-tran Nissan bullion van with registration number GT 8592 W.
A policeman aboard was shot dead by the robbers during the attack on Monday, 14 June 2021, leaving the driver injured.
Onlookers led the police to a wooden structure where the body of one Afua Badu, about 40 years old, was found lying in a prone position in a puddle of blood, who according to reports, was pursued and shot by the robbers for raising an alarm.
The Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman on Tuesday, 15 June 2021, disclosed the bounty, adding that hopefully, the amount will encourage people to volunteer information about the whereabouts of the suspects.
