President Mahama in Abuja for 67th ECOWAS heads of state summit

President John Dramani Mahama arrived in Abuja, Nigeria, to participate in the 67th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
The high-level summit brings together West African leaders to deliberate on critical regional issues, including security, democratic governance, economic integration, and responses to recent political developments within member states.
President Mahama’s attendance underscores Ghana’s continued commitment to regional cooperation and leadership within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The summit is expected to address pressing challenges such as the ongoing threat of terrorism in the Sahel, unconstitutional changes of government, and efforts to enhance economic resilience across the sub-region.
The 67th Ordinary Session comes at a pivotal time for the bloc, with renewed focus on strengthening multilateral cooperation and upholding the core principles of ECOWAS amid shifting political dynamics.
President Mahama is expected to engage in a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings on the margins of the summit.
