School bus plunged into river with 30 pupils onboard after driver suffered stroke

A school bus carrying about 30 pupils has somersaulted into a river after the driver of the bus was struck by a stroke at Atwima Boko in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti region.
The Divine Charisma International School pupils were being taken by bus to their homes after the school had closed on Monday, June 5, 2023, when the accidents occurred.
The Assembly Member for the area, Emmanuel Owusu Adjei told Class News' Ashanti regional correspondent, Elisha Adarkwah that, the driver, while the bus was in motion, was struck by a stroke and for that reason, could not control it and in the process, landed in the river.
He said the pupils were rushed to Akoma Hospital, treated, and discharged while the driver is still being treated by the medical practitioners at the hospital.
