Tema Manhean: Two dead in clash between youth and Navy

Two persons on the evening of Friday, April 12, 2024 lost their lives in a clash between local youth and navy personnel at Tema Manhean in the Greater Accra Region.
During this year's Kplejoo festival, the youth organized a street procession. However, tensions escalated when the procession reached the street in front of the Eastern Naval Command, leading to a disagreement between the youth and the naval ratings on duty.
Amidst the confrontation, reports indicate that a vehicle belonging to the Navy was damaged by some individuals in the crowd. This incident further fueled the tension, culminating in a violent clash between the youth and the naval ratings.
Two lives were lost as a result of gunshot wounds sustained during the altercation. The deceased have been transferred to the Tema General Hospital Mortuary.
Additionally, two others who sustained injuries are currently receiving medical treatment at the same hospital.
