U.S. Embassy in Accra launches new visa platform; applicants must update accounts

The U.S. Embassy in Accra has switched to a new visa services provider.
The switch took effect from August 26, 2024, bringing significant changes to how visa applications are processed.
The transition follows the termination of access to the previous provider’s website and services on Friday, 16 August 2024, requiring applicants to adapt to the new system.
While the Embassy has reassured applicants that all existing nonimmigrant visa interview appointments will remain valid, it emphasised that new actions are required from applicants effective Monday, 26 August 2024.
Individuals must create a user account on the new provider’s website to manage their application details, update DHL delivery preferences, make changes, submit requests, and access customer service.
The Embassy has highlighted the urgency for those who requested expedited appointments but have not received a response by the August 16 cutoff date to resubmit their requests through the new platform.
Additionally, applicants who have already paid their visa fees but have yet to schedule an interview must now do so through the new website, subject to appointment availability.
To prevent delays, the U.S. Embassy encourages all applicants to promptly update their accounts and familiarise themselves with the new platform.
It has pledged support to ensure a smooth transition and minimise disruptions during this period.
