Uphold integrity, patriotism and shun eye-service – Ing Lamptey urges GWCL staff

The Volta Regional Chief Manager of the Ghana Water Company Ltd, Ing Francis Lamptey, has urged all social contract and Ghanaian workers to demonstrate integrity, honesty and be patriotism in the discharge of their daily work across the various institutions of the country.

Ing Lamptey urged all Ghanaian employees both private and government to embrace challenges and face them with honesty and hard work to bring about change and development.

He added every Ghanaian worker must embrace the opportunity for self-development through academic progress to enable them make use of greater opportunities and become highly relevant for the job market.

Ing Lamptey spoke in an exclusive interview with Class News after being honoured at the 2025 National Workers Day celebration in Accra.

The Public Utility Workers Union (PUWU) of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) presented an award to Ing Lamptey for his unwavering dedication and hard work, which PUWU explained contributed significantly to the development of the union.

The citation, presented by the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, in Accra during the May Day celebration read, “For your invaluable contribution to the union as a first senior staff union (SSN) National Divisional Chairman of the Ghana Water Company Limited, now a Chief Manager, we honour you.”

The citation was signed by Mr Joshua Ansah, Secretary General of TUC.

Ing Lamptey underlined his diligence was heartfelt and never eye-service, noting his surprise at being recognised at the national level.

“I have been guided with three things in the discharge of my work. That is integrity, honesty and dedication. These virtues have guided me everywhere I go and that has earned this national recognition,” he said.

“Who would’ve believed that today the President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama would present an award to me but it was the grace of God,” he added, noting his family’s joy and love.

“People are watching and observing your moves at the workplace and they see all you do,” he said to his fellows.

He expressed his gratitude to his staff for their commitment and support.

He assured Ghana Water Company Limited in the Volta region was committed to ensuring water supply to every household.
