W/R: Statue of Akufo-Addo unveiled at Effia Nkwanta Hospital in Takoradi
A statue of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been displayed at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Takoradi, Western Region.
The glittering image was unveiled by the president himself during his Thank You Tour of the region, Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah said the monument was in recognition of the president’s contributions to the Western Region.
Though they are yet to be finished, he mentioned some key projects undertaken by the Akufo-Addo administration: the rehabilitation of Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, the construction of a three-tier Sinohydro interchange, and the redevelopment of the Takoradi Market Circle.
Addressing an audience, the fifth President of Ghana's fourth republic, Nana Akufo-Addo, noted he and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had fulfilled 80 per cent of promises they made to Ghanaians during his two-term presidency.
He, thus, encouraged voters to support his vice president and the NPP's new leader, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on his quest to securing another four years for the elephant party.
Akufo-Addo said Dr Bawumia was the best candidate to continue and culminate his administration's legacy in service to Ghanaians, ensuring the advancement of the country.
Also, he mentioned Free Senior High School (FSHS) as a landmark initiative of his administration's, impacting and transforming the lives of students and easing the financial burdens of parents.
Ghana goes to the polls on Saturday, December 7.
