COVID-19: Active cases inching up again as 2 more die

So far, 779 people have died of the virus in Ghana since mid-March 2020

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Ghana is steadily rising again, according to the latest figures from the Ghana Health Service.

Currently, there are 1,589 active cases.

Of that number, eight are critical and 24 severe.

The death toll has risen by two. It is now 779.

Since mid-March 2020, a total of 92,562 people in Ghana have had the virus with 90,196 recovering.

Forty-nine cases were recently confirmed.

Regional breakdown:

Greater Accra Region - 50,979

Ashanti Region - 15,507

Western Region - 5,803

Eastern Region - 4,175

Central Region - 3,372

Volta Region - 2,455

Northern Region - 1,654

Bono East Region - 1,426

Bono Region - 1,396

Upper East Region - 1,318

Western North Region - 867

Ahafo Region - 711

Upper West Region - 495

Oti Region - 419

North East Region - 228

Savannah Region - 122
