COVID-19: Eleven more die in 24 hours – death toll hits 1,036

So far, 1,036 people have died of the virus in Ghana since mid-March 2020

Some eleven more COVID-19 patients died between August 26 and 27, taking the fatality toll to 1,036, the latest figures from the Ghana Health Service have indicated.

Within that period, 482 new cases were confirmed.

The total active caseload is currently 7,151.

Of that number, 55 are in critical condition and 141 severe.

Since mid-March 2020, a total of 119,436 cases have been confirmed.

Out of that, 111,249 have recovered.

Greater Accra Region - 64,174

Ashanti Region - 20,025

Western Region - 6,745

Eastern Region - 5,972

Volta Region - 4,429

Central Region - 4,259

Bono East Region - 2,369

Bono Region - 2,040

Northern Region - 1,704

Upper East Region - 1,360

Ahafo Region - 1,022

Western North Region - 956

Oti Region - 735

Upper West Region - 575

North East Region - 249
