Group donates items to child inmates of Accra Psychiatric Hospital
A youth group calling itself the Young African Ambassadors Development (YAAD) has presented items worth thousands of cedis to children admitted to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
The items include food, bags of rice, cartons of biscuits and boxes of noodles as well as detergents and toiletries.
After visiting and interacting with the mentally-ill children, the group, led by its President, Nat Guamah Tetteh, urged Ghanaians to take interest in reaching out to the vulnerable in society, especially challenged young individuals, in order to shape their future.
The Executive Secretary of YAAD, Victoria Akusika Anku, reiterated the need to support underprivileged children and urged families of mentally-challenged children not to abandon them at such health facilities.
