Interior Minister leads security agencies to donate over GH¢1 million to MahamaCares

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed, has led a delegation of security agencies and institutions under the Interior Ministry to make a generous donation of over GH¢1 million to the MahamaCares Medical Trust Fund.
The symbolic presentation took place at the Presidency during a brief but meaningful ceremony.
Muntaka explained that the donation was born out of a deep sense of duty and solidarity that emerged during a recent internal meeting of the Ministry and its agencies.
Despite the daily operational challenges faced by the security services, he said, officers across various institutions came together, contributing willingly and proudly to support the noble cause.
“Our support for MahamaCares is grounded in a shared belief in its mission — to provide medical assistance, restore hope, and rebuild trust through structured, compassionate healthcare support,” the Interior Minister noted.
The MahamaCares Medical Trust Fund, spearheaded by President John Dramani Mahama, seeks to offer critical medical assistance to the vulnerable and underserved across the country.
President Mahama, who received the donation, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Interior Ministry and its affiliated agencies. He commended the gesture as not only generous but also symbolic of the evolving role of Ghana's security services.
“For decades, our security agencies have worked tirelessly to protect lives and maintain peace.
Today, they have taken their commitment one step further — by showing national care through this remarkable act of compassion,” the President said.
He described the contribution as a powerful expression of unity and service, emphasising its potential to inspire other sectors to rally behind the MahamaCares initiative.
